Exalted Ruler's Message

My Members, As Elks, we are constantly reminded of the benefits secured for all Americans by our Founding Fathers. As individuals, we likewise are aware of the personal debt we owe our Grandparents for the spiritual values and physical sustenance which provide for our very existence. There is yet another heritage given to us by the efforts of others that we may fail to consider.

Every time you set foot into our Lodge, you are enjoying the rewards of the efforts provided by Charter Members who founded and developed this Lodge. In addition, the Past Exalted Rulers and Past Officers brought the Lodge up to its present position of honor and prominence. These members did not inquire “What is in it for me?” They have instead devoted many hours of their busy lives in service to a higher purpose of Elkdom. This will last beyond their time and enrich the community for succeeding generations. You, as a member, are the recipients of their benevolence. We greatly encourage you to set aside some time to preserve and enhance this heritage for those yet to enter the state of Elkdom.

Therefore, if you are asked to help on a committee or to assist with the Lodge activities – Jump in and help! Or better still, don’t wait to be asked – VOLUNTEER! Lastly, I would like to say thank you for the hard work of the members who helped move furniture in the Quarry Room so we could paint and put down a new floor. The members that removed all the wall hanging, including TV’s so we could paint the members’ lounge. Lastly, thank you to the officers for dedicating their time to work with Barrett’s so that our Tirrell Room Function Hall will be updated with new flooring, painted and state of the art audio/visual system. If you haven’t been up the lodge in over a month, please come up and see the changes that have been completed to the greatest lodge in the state.

I would also like to thank the members and guests who attended our Wednesday night Queen of Hearts, Saturday meat raffle and Saturday night entertainment. All of these event’s help make for a successful and enjoyable Lodge! Please watch the bulletin as we are planning to bring back a shuffleboard and dart league in the fall.

Fraternally Yours,
